Chevy Camaro Mule Has Come To The U.S.

Spies, whose hobbies are to bring geeks like us pictures of new cars in their testing stages, have caught pictures of the Chevy Camaro mule down under in Australia, but never before has it come to our wonderful shores to practice its talents…until now!

It has been confirmed that this Chevy Lumina SS mule is being used for the production of the new Chevy Camaro(though why they would use the Lumina I’m not sure). They have made plans to put it on sale for the 2009 model year. Not only does this vehicle have shortened rear doors, but also the wheelbase is obviously shorter compared to a normal VE sedan from Holden and the roofline is also lower to the ground.

At this time we are clueless to what engine is in the mule, expect the production car to have your choice of GM’s 3.6L direct-inject V6, a “regular” V8 and top-shelf motor based on the LS8 engine putting out close to 500 HP. A convertible should follow a year after the coupe arrives, just like the Camaro Convertible Concept showed up 365 days after the coupe concept.
